For generations - the Pension Dr. Geissler
The corner building Auwinkel – Postgasse, where Pension Dr. Geissler is located in, was mostly destroyed during World War II, and torn down in 1962. With financial help from the reconstruction fund it was rebuilt again shortly after.
Mrs. Hermine Geissler planned, financed and supervised the project. During the construction phase, she decided to buy the whole 8th floor and worked on the bed and breakfast. Named after her husband Dr. Walter Geissler, the Pension Dr. Geissler opened its doors to the public in 1964 with just a few rooms.
During the years, the bed and breakfast has been renovated several times and expanded with rooms in the 7th and 5th floor.
After Mrs. Geissler passed away suddenly, her daughter Mrs. Jutta Adensamer took her place to run the bed and breakfast with the same love and passion as her mother before. For a while now, her husband, children and other relatives are working in the family business too. The Pension Dr. Geissler is without any doubt a true family business!
